Welcome to the Santee Wateree Writing Project's web page. Our writing project is named after two important rivers in South Carolina, the Santee and the Wateree. We serve three counties - Lee, Clarendon and Sumter. The three counties in the Santee Wateree consortium work collaboratively with the University of South Carolina at Sumter and Columbia to:

·       improve the teaching of writing in Pre K- College classrooms,

·       promote a writing identity among teachers and students

·       develop local teacher leadership.
